Health news (Qin Qiu) on October 12, the 2013 first national seminar on the promotion and application of key technologies of minimally invasive external fixation in orthopedics, hosted by Wangjing Hospital of Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese medicine, was held in Beijing. Shen Zhixiang, President of China Folk Traditional Chinese medicine research and Development Association, Cheng Aihua, Secretary of the Party committee of Wangjing Hospital of Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese medicine, Professor Gao Yun and Meng he, vice presidents, Qin Sihe, honorary president of the rehabilitation hospital affiliated to the national rehabilitation accessories research center of the Ministry of civil affairs, and more than 150 experts and scholars from the national bone injury circles attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Lijun, director of the Education Department of the Chinese Academy of traditional Chinese medicine.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) still plays an important role in Chinese orthopedic medical system with a long history. Since the founding of new China, traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics has been rejuvenated with the support of a series of policies of the party and the state, and has made important achievements with the efforts of generations of orthopedic and traumatology experts and scholars. Professor Shang Tianyu initiated the method of small splint external fixation for the treatment of fractures in the 1960s and 1970s. Because it partially solves the chronic diseases of multiple operations, easy infection and many complications in the treatment of internal fixation in western medicine, it has attracted great attention from the international bone injury community. On this basis, in order to deal with a large number of fracture patients caused by the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, Professor Meng he devoted himself to research and developed the fracture reduction external fixator called "Meng's frame", which gradually formed the "Meng's therapy" of traditional Chinese medicine for bone injury, which has an important influence in the field of bone injury at home and abroad. Since then, external fixation combined with minimally invasive therapy has been widely used in the clinical treatment of bone injury, which effectively reduces the pain of patients and improves the clinical curative effect. On the basis of inheriting Meng's frame, Wangjing hospital continues to innovate, integrates the technical advantages of Ilizarov, Stryker, Orthofix and other external fixation stents, draws on the strengths of others, and has obtained a number of patents and scientific and technological achievements in the clinical and basic aspects of bone external fixation technology. Last year, the promotion and application of the new external fixator in the treatment of trimalleolar fractures and osteoarthropathy received special support for the promotion of scientific and technological achievements of the capital's top ten dangerous diseases. In order to promote the further popularization of this advanced treatment, the State Administration of traditional Chinese medicine listed the orthopaedic minimally invasive external fixation technology as a national continuing education project, which effectively promoted the clinical application of orthopaedic minimally invasive external fixation.
As a platform for popularizing external fixation and minimally invasive technology, the first seminar on the promotion and application of key technologies of minimally invasive external fixation in orthopedics was divided into four themes, which was conducted by experts such as Meng he, Qin Sihe, Cheng Hao, Cheng Yongzhong, Wang Wei, Liu Changshan, Wang Xinkuan and Wang Huazhu, entitled "continuing into the future, creating a minimally invasive orthopaedic treatment system with Chinese characteristics", "new technology for surgical treatment of lower limb deformity and deformity" 21 keynote speeches, including "research and development and clinical verification of new humeral surgical neck splint", "external fixator for the treatment of trimalleolar fracture", "Russian ortho SUV stent system", "effect of intraoperative decompression and reduction on postoperative neurological function of adult lumbar spondylolysis spondylolisthesis", "Kirschner wire rubber band traction external fixator for the treatment of old proximal interphalangeal joint fracture and dislocation", were warmly echoed by the participants.
In order to exchange clinical experience, promote and exchange the results of minimally invasive and external fixation in orthopedics, the application of minimally invasive field of modern external fixation in the fields of joints, spine and trauma, the technical system of external fixation, the new theories, new concepts, new instruments and methods of key morphological and functional reconstruction of regenerative repair and natural reconstruction were displayed on site.
